Heat Design revitalised Pearson's Revision Express series with vibrant covers that quadrupled sales, ensuring their enduring appeal for over 15 years. The new photographic style and bold typography resonated with students, making the series a permanent fixture on bookstore shelves.
Pearson's Revision Express series, known for its excellent content, struggled with uninspiring covers that failed to attract students. Tasked with rebranding the 21-book series, Heat Design focused solely on transforming the covers. Despite a limited budget, the team shot all cover images in just two days, using a contemporary, timeless photographic style paired with bold, clean typography.
The redesign had a remarkable impact. Sales quadrupled, and the vibrant, youthful covers resonated strongly with students and bookshops alike. Bookshops prominently displayed the series, including in window features, significantly boosting visibility. This successful rebranding ensured the books remained popular for over 15 years, with the same designs still in use 19 years later. Heat Design’s work demonstrated the power of effective cover design in revitalising and sustaining a product line.
